Hey there! Let me tell you about the fascinating history of the Château de Vincennes in the Paris region. It all started back in the 12th century when Louis VII decided to build a hunting lodge in the forest of Vincennes. Fast forward to the reign of Louis IX, and the Château officially became a royal residence.

In the 14th century, the Château underwent a major transformation under King Charles V. He added a vast wall, towers, and an impressive over 50-meter-tall keep, which is now considered the tallest medieval fortified building in Europe. Not only that, but construction on the Sainte-Chapelle began in 1379 and wasn’t completed until 1552 during the reign of Henri II.

Moving on to the Blandy Les Tours castle, it’s a unique example of medieval military architecture in the Paris area. Starting as a simple fortified manor, it evolved into a fortified castle during the Hundred Years’ War and later transformed into a Renaissance residential castle and the Ferme des tours (Farm of the towers). Throughout the centuries, the castle of Blandy-les-Tours has been owned by many prestigious families.

Isn’t it incredible how these historic sites have withstood the test of time and continue to amaze visitors with their rich past?
